Are the TEIN FLEX COILOVER one of the best? And how much do they usually run?

tein flex is the best all around coilovers. U can do pretty much anything with those coilovers. They are not too stiff for daily driving either. They come stock with pillow mount so thats another plus. Flex usually cost 1.3k

flex is gay, buy somthing else unless your gonna make a show car and take the wheels off and put mirrors under the car. or if you want coilovers with the soft stock ride but you can still say you have coilovers.

um, what price range and what car? i am guessing an s13? tein hes is what i have on my car and i think they are great, cant beat them for the price, pillow ball uppers w/front camber plates, linear springs w/o helper spring, 16 way adjustable, dual height adjustable, comes with pretty good spring rates from the factory. thoes run about 1200. If i had more money though there are a thousand coilovers i would love to try. if i could pick any coilover to try i would like to try the kazama unit, kei office, or the tanabe dds.

From what I've seen, the Teins are very popular, but mainly due to the bang for the buck. There are better coilovers out there like the kei office, jic, gp sports, cusco, and zeal. For 1200, you might as well put a few more bucks and get the JIC's. I can get them for 1400 and I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get them. They're said to be stiff by some, but personally I don't think they're too stiff for the street. The Kei Office XP's are very good for the track, but you pay a premium for the name and give up streetability. Cusco you pay for the name, but they're comfortable compared to many others. Zeals can be streetable but at the same time used seriously on the track. But again, you pay a premium. GP's are way stiff, seriously a bit too harsh for the street.

if you get a set of coilovers that is too stiff you can always get another set of springs for like 80 bucks, revalve if they are still too stiff... but if that is the case, you are just a wussbag :)

I don't think it's quite that simple. The Flex are stiffer than any strut/spring combo you'll find, and you get height adjustment AND camber adjustment via the pillowball upper mounts.

Depending on the road conditions where you live and the use of the car, you might not want something as stiff as the Tein HE's. If you've got the money, the Flex seem like a nice compromise.

Another thing to consider is that Tein stuff can be revalved and repaired in *this* country. Not sure if Cusco, JIC, Kei Office, etc. can do that. Wouldn't it suck to send your busted coilover to Japan just to get fixed?

what about a GC/ advance design setup... or even a GC/ revalved Koni setup? not many "full coilover" setups can touch that.
