Are they really as bad as the reviews say they are. Is the car good in snow/rain? I want to buy an 03 or an 04. Any advice would help. Thanks.

They are dustier than usuall. Nothing major and nothing what you can't see on other cars. Acura TL(previous gen) and some of the 3'ers had/have exessive dust. Nothing what a good ceramic brake pad can't fix.

About the winter driving. You have to consider it is a RWD car. If you ever driven RWD in winter you know how it feels like. Winter boots are the most if you planning to drive it in winter. It all depends from your location. Some got more snow,ce, freezing rain than others.

The brakes on my 06 are excellent and the OEM pads were replaced at 85k miles. They still had a few thousand miles left on them.

I've had no problems driving in ice and snow but having good tires on a RWD vehicle is important.

A manual shift vehicle is in my opinion a much safer vehicle to drive in ice and snow than AWD.

My 2004 G35X does fine in the snow running on Yoko Avid V4’s. Of course the X is AWD and you didn’t mention if you were considering an X. The only issue I have is when the snow sometimes gets so deep on my private road before the plow comes that the low front end of the car becomes the plow!

As far as brakes go, like Zozoka said, the brake dust can be significantly reduced by switching to ceramic pads. I used a set from NAPA and they made a huge difference with regard to brake dust. However, I’ve had to change both original rear calipers at different times in the past year.

The first gen G’s are great cars and I would bet you would be very happy if you made a decision to buy one.

thanks for the help. Its an 03, they are asking 13,000, has the body kit on the bottom, so it matches the all silver color to the car. Car is in excellent shape, just worried about the electronics and brakes (price wise).
