My friends looking for a car and I found a 88 Turbo 300z with 75,000 miles, new timing belt & full tuneup & brakes. "very good condition" They want $2800 and are very close to me. This sounds like a great deal, and it's stick shift. How are these cars and are they 2 seaters? Are they decently reliable (old turbo so I figure I ask)? His sister has a 95 chevy cavalier so if it's better than that it should be good. I just don't want to tell him about a car that's going to give him problems and then have him hate me. I was searching for a S13 240sx for him but only found an auto low millage example. his dads a mechanic, but parts should be cheap. It will be his first car and hes 18. Will insurance kill him even though it's an old car? Hes also looking at the 2nd gen I think honda prelude (before 91 & boxy) has 3,000 to spend on a car. turbo z has 200hp right? thats real nice.. i know I'd definetly like it.

I cant say much but all I can say is that yes it is a two seater and no it does not have 200 hp. the 88 and 89 models had 5 more hp than the previous years.

88 is the best model if a turbo buy it for 2800 all day long!!!
