You want an Eclipse? what ta hell? If you are have such expensive speakers why hook them up to a s*** amp?

The amp is the most important part of your system, period. (lets see who will challenge that statement)

You will need this bad boy:

Rockford Fosgate Power 851X110x4 @ 4 ohms, 215x4 @ 2 ohms

I'm not disagreeing - I'm asking. I didnt mean that I wanted an Eclipse amp, but that I have an eclipse HU w/ a 25W x 4 RMS (50W peak) internal amp right now. I am looking for a good amp at a good price, around $250.

But you think Eclipse makes bad amps? What about JBL? that was the original question

I know the basics on mobile audio, but have not much about amps - is it okay that the RF amp you suggested exceeds the peak handling of my fronts?

about the eclipse, I understand now.

lets just say eclipse is not my top 10 for amps. Their amps are descent if you are on a low budget, or have a brand bias towards it.

JBL isn't good for speakers; however they do make some nice amps for subs.

the over kill of the RF, its something you want to think about, because the RF is majorly underrated, being a little careful and putting more power to the back, you will be fine.

For an amp around 250 that isn’t over killing your speakers, go with an RF Power 551X, I got it for 230 off eBay, it works grate, one of the best amps I ever owned. it’s rated at 70rms where in reality it's closer to 90OrKicker KX800.4 a little more expensive but a very trusted brand.Or Audiobahn A4401T same price as kicker.

look at these, see if you like them

One thing, your system can only be as good as your weakest link. Your CD player, speakers, amp, AND wires should all be on par with each other. I am a huge advocate of spending lots of money on your amp... especially your highs and mids amp. You have great speakers, so get an amp that will do them justice. That Rockford amp is a good buy. US Acoustics amps are on a lower level than the equipment you have. As far as power goes... those kappa perfect 6.1 systems will handle a ton of power. I have them in my own vehicle and I run my Precision Power PC4800 (4 channel 100w RMS at 4 ohms) in a bi-amplified configuration that has the tweeters on 2 channels and the woofers on the other 2 channels. So essentially 200 watts RMS per side. The system will take lots of power with no problem. I suggest 50 watts RMS AT LEAST per channel. Good luck!
