How and what to use to clean 1993 SE 240sx MAF?

electrical component cleaner. the maf element heats up and burns anything on the element so i dont know if there is much point to cleaining it.

spray the elment from a distance or you might damage it.

bad ground is often a prolbem. connect a wire from aluminum structure of maf to engine ground to see if anything changes.

I use brake or carb cleanerthe element will burn out any deposits at shutdown.When spraying, be sure to blow with air any excess cleaner off the elements or you could damage the sensor.

Go get maf cleaner--they sell it in the same area that they sell brake,carb cleaner.

They've just started coming out with specific MAF cleaners this last summer. CRC makes one, others will follow quickly. Some of the MAF sensors are delicate and can die from carb cleaner, or wind up the worse for the residue. MAF-specific cleaners dry without residue and aren't harsh enough to perturb the dainty dears.
