hi~~!

i have 2011 m56s

i thinked v8-engine is more calm & less-vibration

but my wife's new camly(2016) is more calm & less-vibration, eventhough a new car , but it is just 4-cylinder car...

my m56 has some under vibration(near the my foot) and handle vibration , at idle stop , with d-range gear, with brake

i replaced engine mount bushing & transmission mount bushing, but it slightly improved vibration at seat & handle

how about your m56's vibration?

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

I think you answered your own question...your wife's car is brand new and a 4 banger...

I can't say my car has any bad type of vibration at idle but I wouldn't be surprised if it could be felt more than a 4 banger.

The V8 may end up having more vibration due to firing order. Not sure what Nissan engine firing order is, but usually non-flate plane V8s have a firing order that makes them more prone to vibration. Plus they can idle at a lower RPM which may resonate. Plus they have more rotating mass.

Sometimes the vibration is just there for her comfort.

My 2011 M56 with 66,000 miles on it. Had a slight vibration at idle. Turned out to be the transmission and engine mounts. They were replaced. Perfectly smooth after that

92k on my 2011 and it runs very smoothly. It is even smoother after cleaning out all the carbon from the intake ports and valves.

Keep in mind many 4 cylinders use oil filled hydraulic motor mounts to further dampen the vibration.

According to the specs, the 3.7 and 5.6 both use 2 liquid filled mounts for the sides, and 1 liquid filled mount for the rear (RWD) and a solid mount for the AWD model. The parts have also been redesigned since the original installation so upgrading to the new design may help.
