How about this trans swap???

Any body know if swaping front bellhousings to a RB25det, would allow THIS TRANS to bolt up to a RB motor??

I've been thinking on trying to mate up one of the two Z33 350z boxs I have to my RB26, but this box seems pretty nice also....Whata ya think? Think the RB front will bolt to this box??

it might work but the six speed boxes don't have a good reputation for strength on a worked SR let alone an RB

humm, that shows how much I know about those series boxes (nothing) . I'm sure the 350z 6 spd would hold up better then...

oh well, if I had picked up that trans real cheap like I did on the two 350z boxes I have, it might be worth tearing it up for fun, but no way I will put down the $999 minimum that guy wants for that box, just to gernade it behind the monster RB motor I'm building now...

Youu would probably have better luck witht he RB20 bellhousing, I know that they are interchangable witht he RB25 where it meets the engine, and with the KA at the center section, but truthfully....I have no idea what I am talking about.

for that price i would get a 6-speed t56 and work with that for an adapter.

The 350z 6spd will work on the rb25det.I have seen in person a 600rwhp ka24det powered s13 with the G35 6spd which is the same as the 350z transmission.They(BYP) used an adapter plate to make it work.

Are you positive the VQ 350z box bolts onto an RB??? Or are you saying with an adapter plate?

I have both, a RB and a 350z box, and I can tell you they won't work without some kind of mods...
