#1 Don't Cut. Unbolt.

I just have a 3" exhaust that welds directly to the stock header.

Pretty much the same as cat delete/straight pipe.

A straight pipe should just bolt up though.

you should set your self up with a header/downpipe/cat/cat back with a test pipe set up..making shure all the parts are can be unbolted from eachother..what im sayin in my round about way is..if ya had a bolt style down pipe and cat back..you could unbolt your cat and in place throw on a test pipe..per say..and use it for the track!.( uhumm ya track only!) if ya get my point..then when it comes time for your smog test..i um mean..time to leave the track..you just um bolt back on the cat and your all set..after a good freeway run of course..at um cough cough...normal speeds.

I thought about cutting my cat off but i found out that with a hollowed out cat it causes turbulince in the cat which means a lot more back pressure, in turn less power.

If you want to be cheap about it just go to your local auto parts store and buy some flex pipe to stuff into the header and into the mid pipe to connect them. And remember to drive with the windows down so you don't suffocate.

go on ebay and buy a test pipe. you can get them for like $20 - $30 and it will bolt directly in.
