But since we DON'T have a race car, we certainly want to avoid having a rice car. You may as well add a non-functioning hood scoop. Do what you want, I've seen in on cars myself and they look just tacky. Not to mentioned WAY over priced.

^What he said.

Caliper covers are the equivalent of stuffing your underwear.

1) Dangeris is humoring you, he actually has a BBK that cost $1500+.
2) I think you are missing my point. Changing wheels is not the same as putting a cheap piece of plastic over your OEM calipers to make them look bigger. In doing so, you are making your car appear to have more stopping power than it actually does. Although it might only be cosmetic to you, it implies bigger caliper and better performance at first glance (like you stuffed your undies, yo). But once you get up close and personal with them, you realize they arent what they appear to be. If you are trying to compare wheels to caliper covers, think stock steelies with Walmart plastic covers. Same thing.
3) Tinting brake lights doesnt imply more performance.
4) Buying a new grille doesnt imply more performance.
5) Adding Stillen bumpers doesnt imply more performance. Anyone can spot a body kit on a car, thats not the same thing. If you saw an AC with the GTR body kit and said "oh look, a GTR!" than you are an idiot.
6) Adding spacers doesnt imply more performance.
7) I dont think that anyone is saying that cosmetic upgrades are "rice", but cosmetic upgrades that create an illusion of performance upgrades are.

Dig?

lol
take it easy guys!

I want to add to all what have been said that the covers trap heat, and your brakes will become less efficient :yesnod

You can paint your stock brake calipers if you want (with special paint)

Dude you didnt have to edit the whole post. You asked for opinions and we gave them. They you asked to be humored and I did. Not bashing or anything, if you like them put them on your car. I was just explaining my stance on the subject. We can disagree and still be friends.

Oh good Lord.

Knock it off. BP, don't disrespect your chosen profession by letting mere words piss you off. You're better than that - I hope.

Caliper covers aren't the lamest thing you can put on a car, but they're right up there.

I think it ranks right behind faux "balls" hanging from the bumper, stick-on chrome "fender vents", and lighted exhaust tips. :)

Saw this when it was originally posted n his long post wasnt deleted, just didn't say anything  . Here's my viewpoint, If it isn't real or has an actual benefit it falls into the rice/semi-rice category for me. Of course if it looks good it's somewhat acceptable for me I guess.. So, instead of putting something pointless (IMO) on save up and do the real thing ;) ! I got my own BBK I guess :gapteeth: , n I love it lol. So do the real thing or work with what u got...
