I'm looking for a Top Notch Nissan Tech to handle some upcoming stuff on my 240. The guy I currently use, seems okay but he does not have the computers and stuff to handle the difficult tasks - I'm looking for a Nissan guru for the real technical stuff. Help, Help,

Tony

in houston we have an incredible shop to take our 240s to. SGP racing 11715 veterans memorial dr houston, tx 77067.http://www.sgpracing.comthey're expensive from what I understand but the best shop we have. I've never had anything done through them but heard nothin but good about them.

what are you trying to do anyways?

Need to replace the front seal in my manual transmission. Was wondering if at 96,000 miles on the clock - I should consider replacing the clutch. I am the original owner since new (1998). The clutch and shifting is flawless. But...since the transmission will be out....should I consider it.

Also, who are you currently using as your tech. I'm due for my first tune up at 100k miles. I need a 240 guru. I'm in the Sugar Land / Stafford area.

I will listen to your recommendations.

I have used SGP. They built the engine i wanted at my specs and even let me help assemeble it. The work was good, but if you are just looking for simple maintanance on your 240 try sterling mccall nissan. Or any place but robbins nissan. Those guys just dont strike me as carring.~Sam

I don't know where to take it on the south side but as far as the clutch goes I would replace it, the throw out bearing, and have the fly wheel turned. I know if its not broke don't fix it... but I've seen to many people get stranded b/c their clutch went out. take the precautions it will be worth it. currently I am using my own hands and a few close friends to help on my car. I order my parts from robbins nissan b/c I get a shop discount there and they deliver to my shop, can't beat that with a stick (but agreed about the service dept). but sorry I can't point you in a better direction other than a nissan dealership.
