Houston, TX - Looking for 240 Tech...

Can any of you clones hook me up with a good Houston area tech to work on my ride. When it comes to fixing cars, I don't know jack...But, I don't want the dealership taking all of my jack either. Looking for a cool dude or chick to help "pimp my ride".

I just got my 240 as well, and I'm in Houston. I've heard good things about SGP and Lightspeed. Also Speed Fetish, the owner has a 240 I think. If you look around on http://www.houston-imports.com/forums you'll find info on all three of those shops. So far I've been able to do all the work I've needed to do myself, so I can't personally say much about the above shops.

If you find a 240 tech that's awesome here in houston please let me know! I'm out by astroworld and I'm fixing to put her in the shop for transmission repairs and I'm a little apprehensive on just taking it anywhere. I'm even leary about the nissan dealerships.

SGP is one of the best Nissan (Z) tuners in North America. They would be a good place to go. My buddy got his S13 w/ SR20DET from Lightspeed and the quality of the instal is immaculate.

If your talking about me Rico, and I point out, good thing you only posted a link to SGP. I wasn't really happy with Lightspeed when I was trying to get some things resloved. However SGP had no problem getting me in and helping me out. I would recommend Kyle and Mark at SGP Racing for any kind of Nissan job. If you keep up on magazines they have recently had a 1k rwhp car in Super Street I think it was.

I went into Lightspeed acting like a normal un-educated customer wanting to price out "my SR swap". They were nice but honestly were overcharging me on the pricing and labor of the swap.

Some of their suggestions weren't really what works best but what they could get a better price on themselves. I know alot of shops do that but it was their suggestion.

Plus one of their customers (anyone that posts on Houston Imports knows just who RB boy is) was being a flaming pen15 to me the whole time I was there.

As far as Houston goes I would only take my car to SGP Racing if I had a choice. Talk to Al, Kyle, or Mark and they will get you squared away.
