what a pain in the ***...

everything on the Header came right off... head bolts/nuts... egr, O2, bottom thing that goes to the intake... off easy.

Then the trouble started when I took off the Cat... *snap* bolt breaks off in the cat. fuxor. Drop the whole system and remove the entire cat. Started drilling the broken bolt to use an easyout... *snap* Bit broke off in the whole. FUXOR. Okay, walk away before I throw the ***** over the house.

Try to pull the stock exhaust manifold up and out... NOPE... Back under the car the car to remove the head pipe from the down pipe. (It was now I realized I need taller ramps)Old pipe out... The exhaust manifold is really heavy.

Installed new Hotshot. Nice finish and very shiney. Close to Bling.Hmmmmmm not exactly a bolt in. beat pipe in about 1/4 inch to clear bell housing.... beat floor up about an inch to clear pipe... beat fire wall in about 3/4 inch to clear O2 sensor. Also noted that the collector is about 3/4" to the outside of the car from the stock location. I have Nissan motor mounts, not the Nismo's so I dont know why the clearences were so tight... I will have to craft a bracket to hold the exhaust up at the Cat, you know the one that comes from the trans crossmember. Fuxor'd with the EGR for about 20 min to get it just right so it threads. Bottom goes right in, thank goodness for the rubber hose. O2 in. Everything tight. Tighten headbolts down tight from the inside out. Start car with open header and let it run for about 10 minutes.... sure sounded nice at idle... alittle choppier as I guess it was working better with the cam. Let it cool while I called my bro to weld the cat onto the extension pipe. No problems as it was welded up tight. Meantime the Header cooled and I checked all of the nuts/bolts for tightness. Bolted up the rest of the exhaust...

Took it for a ride. Nice throttle response above 4,000 rpm. Even with the stuck open injector(s). Alittle louder but not bad... considering right now I am only using the resonator and a hollow cat.

All in all... about 3 hours but worth the money and the frustration.

Your mileage may vary. This is on a 90 240sx Fastback SOHC, 5 speed. 1500 miles on new engine.

Thanks.

I think so...

Shame is I'll have about 5 grand in engine/engine management once I buy a JWT ECU. Sometimes I wish I would of put in an SR. But I'm legal and different. Somethings were way too expensive and I didnt shop around enough... but its no biggie, its only money. With my level of happiness with it, I dont feel "ripped off".

I do like it.

My Hot Shot bolted in fine , but I'm not impressed with the header. Small primary tubing, looks like they burnt through the tubing when welded, needs more room for spark plug, not equal length primaries, and the list goes on. I know there is someone who builds a real performance header for the SOHC, I just haven't found them.
