I have a hotshot header and mine doesn't throw a code. It shouldn't, but for a handful it does. And it shouldn't be a big deal with smog, header just lets more go through and keeps it at a cooler temp than a stock header. Never heard of anyone fail because of a header. Just put the stock one back in for inspection, lol.

On an S14 it replaces the primary cat and you will fail without that. Just put on a three way cat where the fake one is and move your second o2 sensor to your cat back portion of the exhaust.

Just search on my username, I asked alot of questions about this one also.
