OK, so I picked up a hotshot header for a good price... I couldn't pass up a good deal.
Now I have a header with ports for EGR, first O2 sensor, and second O2 sensor... all in the correct factory locations... But it seems that the header eliminates the cat, and goes all the way back to the false cat under the drivers seat.
Now, my understanding is that if I remove my stock cat, and dont relocate it or replace it... my second O2 sensor wil read rich, and send the engine into limp mode. I hear that sucks. Now, to avoid this, I need to place a new or maybe just move the old cat under the drivers seat where the false cat (I presume a second cat or resonator) is now. I also need to extend the second O2 sensor back into the cat back system, so that it reads the cleaned up exhaust gasses coming out of the cat.
Do I have all that right?
Does moving the cat further back seriously impact the time it takes the car to get up to operating temperature? Would taking a while to get there cause the car to go into limp mode thinking the cat is not functioning properly?
Will extending the leads on the second O2 sensor cause it to read differently? If so what are my options? Buying pre-made longer O2 sensor wires? Using a wide band O2 sensor instead of the stock one?
OK, thanks for reading, please help me out... and sorry if I sounded like a newb.
