Why couldnt you just heat the fvcker up and bent it. Or better yet, have someone in a muffler shop bent it for you?jerryk wrote:I just bought this header for my 1990 240sx and it is a disaster. Beyond connecting to the engine, everything is in the wrong place. I noticed the EGR connection pipe seems to be mounted up to high on many other products. It does not seem to match up to where my EGR pipe is located. The vender is giving me a complete refund, but I am out the install money.
I am looking for a header that fits in stainless and that does not cost big bucks. Can you help?More pictureshttp://lovelife.smugmug.com/ga...Y8i6z
Screw stainless. Fit > finish.jerryk wrote:I am looking for a header that fits in stainless and that does not cost big bucks. Can you help?
Not to be a jerk, but I doubt you'd see such a decrease in mpg solely on the change in exhaust manifold. Effectively, I could see such a drop because of a change in driving style along with the header. I also doubt that a cone filter alone is going to change the amount of air flowing to the engine too much. The flat plastic tube probably does more to restrict air. However, I would also recommend upgrading the intake along with any header- they work hand in hand.jerryk wrote:Note:It is very important to wrap a header with the fiberglass wrap and spray with ceramic paint before installing. This is a very tedious job taking at least two hour to accomplish. Then you need to wait another two hours to let the paint dry. This procedure helps keep the heat in which gives the engine a hotter burn. Headers have superior airflow but lose heat too quickly. You can lose some compression and almost two MPG if you fail to do this.
Always replace your stock air handler with a cone type filter before changing to a header or you will see over a three MPG loss. The engine will burn rich because it is starved for air
