I am looking for the hotshot header for KA24DE but can't find any around. Anybody here tried the APEXI Noir exhaust? I don't want the N1 style anymore; I got pulled over too many times in NYC because of the big can muffler.

Hotshot is no longer made. OBX is considered pretty close (surprisingly) and DC Sports makes another good one.

Pacesetter many say is great but cosmetically not as 'pretty'.

I'd avoid any of the 4 into 1's.

For exhaust Circuit Sports makes a stealth one much like the discontinued RSR Ex Mag. Only for the S13 though AFAIK.

for what it is...the OBX header performs exceptionally well! I'd say its the best "banG" for the buck header on market for KA's. I have one right now and it looks good and performs well. Imo its not worth spending over $200 for something ur not gonna keep for the long run...expectically when most of us will eventually go turbo...

You legal to drive?

What are you trying to accomplish usually no one goes from one header to another whether it be pacesetter, obx, hotshot or dc sports? Research isn't needed to get a price on a header, I am going to let you in on a little secret. You can do it right from NICO. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T TELL ANYONE THOUGH, K?

See that Google box in the upper right corner. Click on the Web radio button and type in 'dc sports header s14'.

profit.

lol well i need a new 1 cuz the header that came w. the car is wrong size (hotshot header that im using is 2.5in and the rest of my pipe r 3in) so i was thinking i dont want 2 go bak 2 stock header and i thought dc sport would probably b good hehe well any way i dont have a CAT the old owner took the CAT out so im basiclly wont pass the smog anyway (i got some 1 2 do it 4 me, hehe)

u don't need to buy another header....... there is nothing wrong with your header collector being 2.5" and your catback being 3"

thats how it is

you won't find a header that outputs to 3"

your not loosing any performance... just waisting money

DC/OBX/Hotshot headers are damn near identical I think, they are all copies of each other and look the same

Are you kidding? search "s13/s14 header" on ebay. They are pretty much all OBX or Pacesetter.

Pretty much.As far as the diffenece between OBX and DC sports- I think DC sports is closer to equal length than OBX. OBX has #4 primary cross over to #1, while DC has all 4 primaries twisting down to the collector (hard to explain in words). Both are 4-2-1. Last time I saw, Pacesetter was 4-1.

I know DC-sports has an EO# for A.R.B. to be CA friendly, but I don't know about OBX. (in case anyone was curious or even cared).

I have the DC Sports, I like it a lot. The OBX would be my 2nd choice, it's based off the HotShot design from what I heard, and even welded a little better (there were two versions of the HotShot). But IMO, I'd get the DC for quality.

my car was lowered on eibach sportlines 2.5" fr and 1.7" rr. the header never hit the ground. the resonator on the rear part of my exhaust would scrape on speed bumps but thats it. a friend of mine has the dc. i like the hotshot much better. it gives the car a much deeper sound.

I just bought this header for my 1990 240sx and it is a disaster. Beyond connecting to the engine, everything is in the wrong place. I noticed the EGR connection pipe seems to be mounted up to high on many other products. It does not seem to match up to where my EGR pipe is located. The vender is giving me a complete refund, but I am out the install money.

I am looking for a header that fits in stainless and that does not cost big bucks. Can you help?More pictureshttp://lovelife.smugmug.com/ga...Y8i6z

I had fitment problems on my OBX header. It hit the steering column in roughly the same place- not a fun way to drive. After numerous complaints, the mechanic finally heated and bent the metal inward to avoid the steering. I can now drive it normally.I don't really like the OBX header and may replace it with a DC Sports header at some point in time.

Why couldnt you just heat the fvcker up and bent it. Or better yet, have someone in a muffler shop bent it for you?

Screw stainless. Fit > finish.

I'd take a used Hotshot over some non-fitting ebay crap any day.

I purchased an OBX header the original model that the copy was made from. It also had a bad fit, however, not as bad. The mechanic was able to get it installed. Then I went to a muffler place and had them heat and bend the F--ker into place.

Note:It is very important to wrap a header with the fiberglass wrap and spray with ceramic paint before installing. This is a very tedious job taking at least two hour to accomplish. Then you need to wait another two hours to let the paint dry. This procedure helps keep the heat in which gives the engine a hotter burn. Headers have superior airflow but lose heat too quickly. You can lose some compression and almost two MPG if you fail to do this.

Always replace your stock air handler with a cone type filter before changing to a header or you will see over a three MPG loss. The engine will burn rich because it is starved for air

Not to be a jerk, but I doubt you'd see such a decrease in mpg solely on the change in exhaust manifold. Effectively, I could see such a drop because of a change in driving style along with the header. I also doubt that a cone filter alone is going to change the amount of air flowing to the engine too much. The flat plastic tube probably does more to restrict air. However, I would also recommend upgrading the intake along with any header- they work hand in hand.
