Im replacing my whole exhaust system soon and im going with a hotshot header, and i was just woundering if the header has beeen redesigned. I heard that the O2 sensor is misplaced and you have to relocate it. Also the outlet dose not match up to the cat. Has hotshot changed these problems.

Thanks.

Big red SEARCH button at the top right corner of your screen might help you out a bit.

you heard right. With the 95-98 revised headers you don't have to make any holes for the 2nd o2 sensor- they come pre-cut with fitment for both o2 sensors and egr.

Hotshot's headers extend pretty far back..almost reaching the driver's seat; it replaces the working CAT on s14s and connects right up to the resonator (2.5")

My SOHC application almost works but the O2 sensor gets too close to the firewall for normall application.

My Hotshot required mods to make it fit perfectly. I prefer function over form so I'm alot more direct wtih my mods than most.

C'mon bud. research and self achievement is worth far more than following a heard. I bet I have one of the fastest NA Sohc's in AZ.... because I researched first adn asked educated questions afterwards. Besides... 5k goes along way.

Honest. But your question could be quickly answered with a quick email to enjuki racing or atleast telling us what motor/chasis you are going to put it in.

Edited :)

Ok,

Redshard if you dont have anything nice to say at all then dont say nothing...

You dont know who I am. Why are you talking and talking... and talking about someone you dont even know...

I apoligize for not using the search button and also for not mentioning that my car is an 93(s13). Im fairly new to this board and was not aware of the search button. Also I e-mailed Hotshot with this question and did not get a response. Glad that guys doing his job...

I have KYB struts w/Eibach springs. Hotshot intake and just stared replacing my bushings, replacing my t/c bushings in a few days actually. Hopefully getting all new exhaust header to tips (all 2 1/2in) in about a few weeks, Overall the car looks stock no stupid wing, no neon, nothing thats a waste of my money.

Edited :)

You know what? I re-read my post... and realize that I claim not being a D I C K and sound like the king of them. I am sorry for saying such rude things, honestly. Why did I act out like that, no answer. The bad thing is that I truly know better than to blast someone. Actually, last night I acted like a punk, not a yapping little girl.

2BN_S13 made a valid point and I realized then that had fuxored up.

hey y'all. I'm sorry. If i could take it back I would, but obviously its too late.

This is what I should of typed...

My biggest problem installing the Hotshot on my S13 SOHC is that there is not enough clearence for the O2 sensor and I had to beat the floor up to clear it on the bottom... maybe there jig was out of whack that day... I even had to dent it to cover the Bell housing...I put in a custom 2.5 exhaust using a 30" 2.5 inside Diameter cherry bomb as a resonator ( and only muffler right now ). It is the perforated core, not the baffled. It still resonates too much and I need a supplimental muffler so I can hold a conversation at highway speeds, 3-4000 rpm. What I ended up doing was beating the fire wall in using a 3lb hammer and a piece of rebar to make some clearence. I still dont have enough and ended splicing the wire on the O2 sensor to make it work. Luckily for you you dont have an OBD-2 system which would require you screwing around with the fake Cat and the down wind O2 sensor. My research proved that nobody really has any trouble with Hotshot... so I didnt worry adn just bought it.Ken at Enjuki (sp) was a great help and kept fantastick communication through the whole deal. I cannot speculate why you are not having a decent time with them. *shrug*

I just did a hotshot on my 1990 too. the header looks, sounds andfeels great. The problem with my o2 sensor not fitting right is just a nobrainer on my part. There is a fitting that the o2 sensor threads into and Iunscrewed that and the o2 sensor from the stock manifold. Doh! I havent yet put it in its proper possition but it doesnt look like i will need to hammer on my firewall. i bought the header used and the previous owner had welded the two pieces together. it was a bit short and i had to work to get it to seal up to the cat.

Got some header bolts from the nissan dealership, gona put them in sometime this week.My ecu is throwing codes so I need to check that too. It might be cause Ipulled the AIV.Went down to the local muffler shopto see about getting a cat back done. They sayabout 240 for a 2.5" and a magnaflow + 70 for mandrel bends. Only problem isI talked to a guy who says that a mandrel bender is the size of a buildingand costs a small fortune and no one in town has one. Is the muffler shopBSing me about the extra cost for the nice bends or are they gona ship itout to get it done?

I still need to put the support brackets back on. The whole system issupported by the header bolts and the rear exhuast hangers.

just my experiences.

I used crushbends and had my friend weld them up. My exhaust is up tight to the body, but not touching, of course. I have a pretty big cam and my head is ported. I was told that 2.25 would be plenty big because to ensure my velocity would stay up, but using 2.5 crush bend would be "close enough". IF the shop can bend up 2.25 you might be better off that way.I still need another muffler. Highway speeds is just too dang loud. I'm thinking about getting one of the straight through model with a 60mm ID. I think that is 2.5" *shrug* That with that big arse cherry bomb should be a a bunch more quiet.

It might be throwing a lean code due to some leakage in the exhaust. Make sure to re-tighten all the fittings like 02 sensors and the EGR.

3" capable Mandrel Benders are expensive (around 20k) and are computer controlled. They are rather large but not that big. You can buy a smaller 2.5" capable mandrel bender for a few thousand I think.
