hotshot header question 95 on a 98

i read somewhere awhile back that hotshot redesigned the header for 95 to 98 240's...my buddy has a 95 240 and is going to sell me his header...i believe he has the old design header...can someone tell me the diff between the old header and the new one...is it shorter? i am lenient on gettin the newly designed header because it takes place of the cat and i do not feel like looking at a check engine light all the time...thanks for any info..

ALL S14 Hotshot headers replaced the cat. The redesign was in the coating and piping layout. The newer ones are also one-piece, which is a much better solution, the two-piece units crack at the joint a LOT. I've welded mine up twice now to no avail. If you're worried about the cat, Random Technology sells an S14 cat with the O2 port tapped in, but the only need for the second O2 sensor is to verify cat functioning, it won't affect performance or emissions in any way.
