Hello to all my fellow niconuts I've been a long time visitor of this site and finally joined just recently. I finally purchased a hotshot header for my 95 240 and would like to know about what to expect when removing the old header and installing the new one? The kit the header came with seems to be very complete gaskets,02 bung and plug, and a piece of wire to extend 2nd 02. I've been reading a lot of you guys had trouble with the studs and wanted to know what to expect.

Expect lots of rust and siezed bolts. Once you install the header you eliminate the Catalytic converter which does nothing for the second O2 sensor. You will run rich no matter what. I would suggest getting some type of mid pipe to replace the crappy looking "cat" thingy inbetween the header and the exhaust as well.

Before installing, spray some penetrant oil on the studs, like 3 to 4 days before, use the car normally. When ready to install, spray some again and warm up the car. It helps to remove the heatshield well before. Then carefully unbolt the nuts in sequence, little by little until fully released. Unbolt the lower pipe (or downpipe) next. Remove the manifold.

When reinstalling, in my case I had to remove the steering linkage. Dunno if S14 are different.Mine is a S13.

Good luck and enjoy!!
