ok so my questions are1. a shop did my hotshot header on my 96 240SX and the shoptold me that they had to use a smaller secondary o2 sensor for fitment. but now the engine light comes on all the time. I've reset the eCUby removing the battery, it always goes away but comes back after about a day's of driving... any suggestions on how to get rid the light? the sop suggested to me to run some high octane gas but I don't see how this does anything...

2. my engine makes the loud rattling noise around 1000 rpm.... now my engine has 100xxx on it, could this be indicative of timing chain need to be replaced?? it only makes that noise around 1000 rpm, it's really noticeable when you're at a stoplight and you have the AC on...

any help I'd appreciate it

1) The possibly used the incorrect Oxygen sensor. The stock one should thread in just fine, if they used a smaller one it's likely it was the incorrect sensor, therefore sending innaccurate readings to teh ECU, therefore causing your computer to give you a check engine light.

2) You'll need to provide more information on where the noise is coming from, etc. Timing chain is a loud rattle from the front of the engine. More info on the rattle and we can probably diagnose...

First of all run a test to see what the code is. If the code says rear oxygen sensor then its likely that the shop probably put a wrong sensor. Make sure the sensor is a 3-wire type and all the wires are connected well. If you bought a header that is a bolt on for your car then the o2 sensor should thread right in...

1. Run the code2. If the code is throwin rear-oxygen sensor check to make sure its the right code3. Check the wiring

As for the rattling noise it sounds like your timing chain is starting to go... Is the rattling really loud?

when i changed my header and my exhuast for an aftermarket i also noticed a rattling noise only when the a/c was on but . I started to listen to it more and it actually started sounding like a leak. and it turned out it was a blown flange gasket were the header met the cat. converter. I thought maybe i would throw that in just incase if that could be the problem good luck
