4 shops, none can fix the issue. This happens frequently when it's hot outside.

1 of 3 things will happen.

1st one: dashlights start flashing, but continues to function normally

2nd one: dashlights start flashing, car loses acceleration. Placing it in neutral it will rev up, in drive nothing. Shut it off and it will restart and be fine.

3rd one: dashlights start flashing, car shuts off. Can take 1/2 hour to restart. The last time it didn't start and it was towed in.

They said it was the cam sensor, replaced it and cleaned all the grounds.

Wife picked it up, and condition 1 again. It's back in the shop until it can be sorted out.

Has anyone had this happen? I did see the thread of something similar, but that was in cold weather
..

Thank you

Sounds like the transmission is going into overheat protection, but that can't be causing the flashing lights. Is this a blackout from power loss, or do you mean warning lights? If you have the CVTz50 app to take a look at your transmission, go to CVT INFORMATION and take a look at the parameters CVT-A and CVT-B. Those are the overheat record for the transmission. Both should be zero, they'll be non-zero if your transmission has been running hot. When a Nissan CVT goes into self-protection from overheating, it doesn't turn on any warning lights, the car will simply refuse to accelerate. There are bulletins about it for all of the early 4-cyl CVT's:

Thank you for that.
The dash lights, ie: brake light and other warning lights start flashing when this is about to happen.
I'll look at the cvt information and go from there. Thank you.
