I have yet to figure out what is going on with this engine. It will run fine, and have no starting problems, then all of a sudden there is a rash of starting problems. I live in Florida, so we are still in hot around here. I have gone to the tech articles and done my best to check everything out, but I am still having the problem. For example, today went about 10 miles from the house to see a friend, was there for about an hour, (car is black) went to leave and the engine would not start. It would fire on one or two times, but would just die. I could not keep the engine running. Opened the hood, waited about two minutes, and then it started, first slow with little throtle response, and then reved up. I reved the engine a time or two and then the engine ran fine. No problems the rest of the day. The engine would not start with the hood down, hood up for two minutes it lopes along and then get going. What is going on?

Check your coolant temperature sensor, sounds like it is going bad.

I was able to get some time and change the coolant temp sensor today. I put the car through a couple of heat cycles and it seemed to solve the problem. I will see how it goes this week to see if it is totally corrected. Advance Auto Parts had the part in stock, cost was less than $16.00.

The hot start problems still continue, though not as bad. I am thinking that there are other bad sensors in this engine. Any idea of which ones I should check?
