So took the G out today and otw back it overheated. Recently I had the rad pulled and all new fluid put in and new lower hose, ive bled the system using the screw in the rear hissed this sputtered then I shut it, it runs cooler at speed but at idle you can watch the needle climb... upper hose is scorching hot. Im thinking Tstat any other suggestions on what to check. Currently im letting it cool so I can pop the cap and see if it bubbles up front. Also the fluid in the resi is staying midway between min/max...

alright so let it cool and let it run with the cap off few bubbles came out like 2-3 maybe let it run and it started to run to the top again. threw a water hose over the radiator and temp dropped im assuming temp gauge is gonna read whats in the rad not the engine or coming out of the engine so still leaning towards tstat. now the driver side fan never kicked on but pass fan was running full time is there a fuse for that fan alone or a way to check it?

Be sure you have bled all of the air out of the system. See the instructions in the manual. That's an issue with these cars if the fluid is not replaced correctly. Do that first before you go for a new thermostat.

Me thinks you may have an air bubble in your system.
