1991 240sx - 5 speed KA24E

Starts perfect on cold mornings and at night. Little bit of a rough idle occasionally.

When it has been driven for a while or it is a hot day it will not start. Turn key, lights come on, but it just clicks. If I have to stop somewhere I can sometimes coax it to start by pumping the gas or holding the gas in. But if it is too hot it will completely refuse to start.

Its sitting outside now, hasn't been started in over an hour but it will not start. Hot day out.

Anyone know what this is?

hit your starter with a wrench or hammer a few times.

You guys serious?

Why, what will this do? Is there a more permanent fix?

look up starter in tutorial link in my signature. the solenoid sticks or even the motor sticks. if it works after you hit it, you know it is the starter.
