I saw a picture of a G50 (Really a President) with chrome rocker panels. I thought they looked classy. Not too tacky. They went with the lines of the Q very well and really complemented the chrome around the windows. I found a place online that sells custom chrome rocker panels. $153 for the set. Not a bad buy. Not too expensive to try either.

The installation instructions weren't very clear on how the whole process went. Do your current rocker panels need to be taken off and replaced? Or can you just apply the new ones on top? A part of me thinks that the OEM ones need to be removed, otherwise, the rocker panels will be thick as hell.

Most likely held on by an adhesive. Basically, an overlay, not a replacement.

Guess you are not old enough to remember these used to be a popular inexpensive add on to alot of cars in the 80`s......popular with the low/midpriced cars back then, especially the dumbestic fords and chevys. They are a thin metal with sticky backside that adheres right over your current body panels-be careful,as they have been known to trap water/salt behind them and corrode your underlying car body!

I nremember some from the 80`s that had gey scriptive writing on them, dumb stuff like"sexy","sport", and the all time favorite"limited edition"Mainly seen in lower class neighborhoods applied to aging cars to spruce them up,along with the big shiny wheels, and usually dented, but highly waxed body.

Yeah. I was born near the tail end of the 80's. My neighborhood is far from low class. What's wrong with shiny wheels? The Q has a fair amount of chrome on it already.

That look is not for me, however, self adhesive chrome tape would achieve the same look for maybe $10.00 and wouldn't trap water.

Aww yeah. You mean to tell me that you don't find that nice?

To each his own.

When you guys say it traps water, where does it do that? If it's a stick-on to the OEM rocker panel, where's the water go? I haven't touched my rocker panel, but it looks to be plastic. I'll check tomorrow.

Where was the humor?
