My arm rest and everything surrounding it have been getting very hot lately. It's most notible inside the ashtray, beside the ebrake handle and the shifter boot. It's getting very hot and i dont know why, it's deffinitely not supposed to do this. It heats up after about 10 minutes of driving. Any ideas why or how to fix it?

Have your catalytic converters checked. They are most likely clogged.

Maybe check the drive shaft while you're under there too!

Okay thanks. I recently broke my rubber shifter bracket mount and my shifter was hanging down rubbing on the drive shaft so i had to hold the shifter knob up every time i drove. I had a metal one fabricated for me to fix that. Maybe that was the cause, i'll take a look thanks.

Mine gets real hot too. TPs and 1-piece driveshaft are on the list...

The TPS is the throttle position switch, which for an automatic can mess with the shift points. So perhaps Gronn's transmission was letting the engine rev higher than normal before shifting into the next gear.

JDM: Check to make sure the heat shield above the exhaust is still on the car and that the cat converters are not clogged.

+1
Hot console and shifter most likely is clogged cats, and we need every heat shield in place for sure!

LOL I meant TPs as an abbreviation for test pipes! I wouldn't have thought the throttle position sensor would cause that

Hahaha yeah briggs I knew you meant TP=test pipes but when Gronn said his TPS was out of whack I assumed he meant throttle position switch.
