i've spent a good bit of time looking online and could not find an answer

a few days ago i was bored and tried to install mt digi unit just to see if it would come on..light up...etc.. how do i test this, but thats a minor question now

The prob is my slider unit the diff fan sppeds work and all but when i press the a/c button no light comes on and no cold air and im in south lousiana, please help...its not the fuses or relay, is there two wires i can touch to see if the slider unit is screwed? i would think when you press a button it joins 2 circuits that kick on the coldness, any two wires at all i can try to see if this comes on, also anyway to check the digi to see if it works, please save me from the heat

also iof you know a good answer please email me [email protected] thanks so much

Hmm, Ok, so you are talking about your regular usdm climate control right? If it's the digi, your SOL for now, that's a lot of work.

As for the analog control, when you press a/c -> check the engine bay, does the ac fan turn on? (in front of the radiator, can see thru bumper).

Did you check ur a/c relays (i'm not sure where thoese are but i'm sure they're somewhere) haha.

Is the belt connected to your a/c compressor pulley (dumb question, but you never know)?

Have you tried a/c button w/ different speed settings (i.e. 1, 2, 3, and then 4).

Lastly, if all those things are working, when was the last time you filled anti-freeze?

p.s. welcome to the forums - the REAL experts will be w/ you shortly, hehe .

When you turn on the A/C, you should see your rpm change slightly... if it does not, then there is something wrong with the AC control circuit.

If your rpm does change, then pop your hood and see if your AC compressor clutch is engaged (ie, see if its spinning). If not, then the control signal going into the compressor is messed up, or the relay is not engaging, or the fuse is blown.

If the clutch is engaged and you get no cold air, then you're out of refrigerant.

Hi there,

I had a similar problem.

I found that the power line to the back or the compressor (engine Compartment) was disconected. I had to do some work to get the wire back into the plug, but once this was done, I plugged it back in and I had ac again.

Just a suggestion

good luck
