Ok I know this has been covered, and I am going to say the same things already said, please work with me.

1990 NA NEVER going TT and not hearing "forget it, go buy some wheels" *already did*

Already planned, mostly purchased and partly installed: CAI,headers with cat delete 2.5 x pipe and free flow mufflers,UD pulley, socketed ECU.
Still needed : chip and willing to pull heads

Where do I go next ? Any chip tune recommendation or head work ideas? Goofy tricks or mods? Anything?

Do any weight reductions yet? Any reason you're never going TT?

Budget prohibits a TT kind of project but am willing to do the hard work and spend some $$ to squeeze a little more from what is already there, oh I forgot to mention all non essential items (think carpet and a/c) already deleted, focus here is on developing a couple more horses.

If you are willing to spend some dough on the heads I'd say get you some TT heads and PnP + oversize valves or if you can get your hands on them get you some VG30DET (Cima) heads, best flowing VG30DE heads out there. But I'd say headwork and breather mods are going to be your best bet for getting the most power out of it. That and a full balanced rotating assembly and high rev head work will allow you to find some of those HPs hiding above the stock limiter.

After researching VG30DET heads it seems they require a different lower intake manifold, does anyone know if the stock upper manifold fits the Cima lower?

Is there any advantage to using TT heads? I always thought they were the same but while researching the Cima stuff I ran across a post where someone sliced up NA and TT heads and did find they were different but made no further comments on what it was.

Is there any years or models with a different cam profile?

+1^

But he would have to find the heads dirt cheap because he has to keep his budget significantly less than the cost to do a TT swap... Otherwise it would be worth saving up the little extra and TT'ing it.

So I think the budget should be less than 4k what yall think? At 4k your almost half way to a TT swap.

For factory spec heads, sure, but you can port TT heads to flow more than Cimas easily, and easier to come by.

Ok general consensus seems to point to head work, I know this is another stupid question but so far I have not found any VG30de/t/tt specific head working tips, any links for me to research would be appreciated.
I also have tune decisions to make, I have recently bought a consult similar to this but not played with it yet

That will allow you to see the ECU and various sensors, but to do any actual tuning, you'll need Nistune

Head casting # L40P 2R and R40P 2L
I also scored the upper and lower intakes as well as all the camshafts/sprockets
Question, is there one camshaft or another that will do a better job? Before I go measure everything is the TT intake any different then the NA?
