Horsepower gains from hollowed cat

Does anyone know what kind of horsepower you gain from hollowing out your stock cat? Does anyone advise doing this? i have a 91 s13 hatch

You acctually lose power and it sounds like poop. Get a high flow cat or invest in a twenty dollar test pipe.

test pipe > hollowed cat.

They usully go for 30 shipped on ebay. And the benefits are better with the test pipe because of the smooth surface. unlike the cat where its like going threw a ribbed condom

And you should gain .5hp Now if we were talking v6/8 it would be a tottally different story

i belive just about all magazines have done a comparason on this. none of em say any different. hollowed cat= dumb. for all reasons stated above.Dont know why this question ceeps coming up, thought it would be common knowledge now?
