Hello,

I have a 95 240. I went to leave my house yesterday and my GF said she felt something shaking in the transmission tunnel, I felt the tunnel and there was this intermittent vibration. When I push in the clutch I can feel the vibration in the pedal. I can also hear the idle varying, the rpm's don't change much but it sounds like there is increasing load put on the motor every couple seconds. There is also a visual vibration coming from the canister that comes off of the top of the ac condenser. The line that is connected to this canister also vibrates, so much so it cracked the heat shield on the line. I will post a pic of what I am talking about.

I was wondering if this could be caused by worn mounts, motor and transmission? Ir if this could be caused by the actual transmission or clutch. I have had problems with all three; clutch, transmission and mounts.

Any ideas?

Do you feel the vibration when the car is in neutral? If you do, it's somethin with the engine or mounts for the engine. Could also be something like an injector that's not getting a clean signal and it's causing the vibration and the shaking gets the connection good again (that's happened to my old SOHC). Try wiggling a few plugs around (like your injector and mafs plugs) and see what's up.
