I'm experiancing horrible gas mileage and a gas smell on start up, I just got her from Japan, have no paperwork history on her at all, she has just over 50k on her, we just changed her oil to Royal Purple 5w30 and very soon we're doing a rad flush(coolant is milky and watery) timing belt is in mint condition, what does everyone suggest to check next and what is the general MPG that most ppl get?

For the gas smell, check all of your hoses first for the fuel rail through the fuel filter and return. Make sure there are no wet spots. Next, look around at the injectors and see if you can see anything wet.

As for the timing belt, even if it looks in mint condition, it's probably over 10 yrs old. Without documentation as to the time/mileage, change it ASAP.

For mileage, first find the leak. Next, pull codes, check ignition timing, tune-up.

Invest in some sort of Consult,, I recommend Nistune,, but you can use several various ones. Most will do what you need
check all sensors,, O2, MAF, temp, balance test injectors,
Gas mileage can be several different things O2, MAF, (see what I mean by getting a consult device)
