Heres the deal. I had an injector go out on me a couple of weeks ago and it was still realtively warm out for the time of year. I took one out of my parts car to replace it, everything was fine. Started up no problem and no more missing. The past few days the high has been in the teens and low down to single digits, so I bought a new battery w/ 700 CCA to help out. The one that was in it wasn't holding charge anymore. This morning before work it was 5 degrees. Went out to start the car and just would not turn over. Just cranks. This has been the norm for about a week. I can take the intake off and spray some starting fluid into the intake manifold and it will fire right up but wont stay running. When I try to give it gas, it kills it. After I go through this for about 20 minutes and the motor starts to warm up, it was stay running and when I give it gas it will actually rev up, not kill it. If it weren't for the starting fluid it would not start at all and the warmer the motor is, the easier it starts. Keep in mind none of this started until I changed the #1 injector. I assumed it was a fuel problem because starting fluid will make it start right up. I've tried cycling the fuel pump a few times, doesn't help. I've tried holding the throttle to the floor, doesn't help. Any help guys would be great. It has made me late for work everyday this week trying to get it started.

If you're getting fuel and pump is fine and the injectors are fine, I would suggest checking the Mass Air Flow and Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. Did you try to retrieve trouble codes?

Well the problem with trying to get the codes is; a while back the wiring harness that runs across the top of the radiator somehow got wrapped up in the clutch fan. Wrapped up so many times it killed the motor. Anyways, it was throwing a code then for the MAF, knock sensor, CAS, and coolant temperature sensor. Changed all of them except the CTS and it still was throwing a code for them, but would actually run. Even after clearing the codes, they would come right back. I haven't checked it in a while so not sure if they are still throwing em. I have a new wiring harness, just to lazy to put it in. I need to go ahead and change that upper harness out. Any idea how much work I'm getting into changing that? And should I go ahead and put a new CTS in? The gauge still works and everything.

Ooo, well it very well might be attributed to your wiring. Might have (more than likely) been damaged/stretched. Shouldn't be real difficult to swap out, and for now it's free since you've already got it.

I guess I'll go ahead and swap 'em out. I am buying an SR after the first of the year so I was trying to hold off on doing it. But i believe I'm gonna have to go ahead and do it.

I'd ajust the TPS, clean the IAC, replace the CTS, and try timing it.

Also check fuel pressure, and plug gap

Yes, and I'm rather concerned about his "wrapping up the harness in the clutch fan so bad it killed the motor". Since he's got the harness, I'd start there anyway.

Check all fuses, fuse link and make sure those wires are fixed. Check the ECCS relay, and if none work..... try the procedure above. then if it all fails, swap ECU's

When the whole thing with the harness happened, I bought a new distributor for it instead of just the CAS. I've never had such a hard time putting a car in time in my life. I would about bet it's out a little bit, but by eye, everything is lined up like its supposed to be. I'll swap out the CTS today and adjust the TPS. What and where is the IAC? And would running seafoam through the brake booster line do this?

I'll go through all of that first and see if I can narrow it down. Thanks a ton bro! I've looked through the FSM a lot but never seen that.
