I was going through the drive-thru the other day, went to reduce the volume on my stereo to order, and the horn sounded.Did anyone else notice that the steering wheel mounted radio volume switch also activates the horn? (Press the center of the button, between the + and - )

You pressed too hard. The horn activates from anywhere on the steering wheel if you press hard. Be gentle, and it won't happen. Don't ask how I know...

Ya the plastic that surrounds the volume buttons is really sensitive to the horn. My volume up only works once in a while on my steering wheel so when I try to use it I have to push hard repeatedly and sometimes the horn sounds

I dont use the knob for the volume, my up and down work perfectly. I have no issues or complaints.

When i drive my gf's suv i tried to use her non existent steering wheel controls and it bugs me out. they are such a luxury.

this is a commonly reported problem for individuals with the PAC-SWI steering wheel kits for aftermarket head units... but if its happening on your factory radio, I'd say you're pressing too hard!

If you press too hard, even on the silver surafce of the steering wheel, it will honk

Not to thread jack but does anyone know how to take off that Nissan emblem off the center of the steering wheel? Does it just pull off or is it glued on?

Thanks guys,

I didn't realize that the horn switch is the entire inner face of the steering wheel. I'm used to a smaller centralized target.

Remember: It's not a bug, it's a feature!
