Well guys im here now at 1am writing this cause this is some weird 5hit that happened to me about 15 min ago...

So im dead asleep, all is good when i turn over in my bed and i hear a wierd solid buzzing noise...So i look around and wonder, WTF is that noise.. At 1st i thought it was the humidifier in my sons room, so i get up and go in there and thats not it...I get out to the living room and trace this noise out and it leads me to the washer/dryer room. Ok, its the dryer... WRONG..I keep on going and track it down to the garage. So i put my ears to the garage door and i hear it from inside the garage..... and im like WTF to my wife...So i open up the inside garage door and sure and sure as 5hit, its comming from in there..... Keep in mind we are both half asleep here, and i think for a second and it dawns on me that its the HORN from the car... So i close the door again cause its so f'ing LOUD, i didnt wana wake up my son... So i went back and got the keys to the car and rushed into the garage, open the drivers door, pop the hood and go straight for the fuse under the fuse panel... Pulled the relay and the horn shut off.. The relay was HOT and so was the horn itself... Then i was thinking to myself, WTF could have set this off.... I plug the relay back in and the horn went off again.... OK F' this... i un-plugged it and left it alone... Ill deal with this in the morning when i get up...

This is some WEIRD 5hit that i have never seen or heard of b4.... Obvioulsy something went wrong and this relay kicked over...

Im here and its now 120am and im writing this post like a dumb A55 trying to figure out what happened......

Has anyone ever ran into this b4 wth their S14 or whatever yr 240 u have..??

In the morning ill start to test the wires and such but this is too wierd...

This exact same thing happened to me. It most likely your hood sensor for the alarm. Look at your dash, by where it says alarm, after you close everything and hit the lock button, rapidly blink for 12 seconds or soemthing like that, then start blinking slowly? And then when your alarm goes off the light is blinking rapidly? Becuase that means one of the alarm sensors is bad, they are easy to hind, on the hood, its the passenger side, its like a big accordian button. Simply disconect, and if that fixes it viola, and if not just try disconnecting different sensors, then you can leave it or buy new sensors.

This did this when i installed my new hub and steering wheel. It was because the horn wire was touching metal :P

I have had that happen with alot of snow that eventually melted in the garage and ended up shorting out my alarm sounding my horn.

I dont have an alarm system on my car....

And it doesnt snow here in florida..

I think i know where the problem is. This is related to the same reason why my parking lights kick ON when i turn on my A/C... And vise versa

The main wiring harness runs thru the drivers side wheel well... After weeks of trying to figure this out, one of the members told me that 2 of the wires may be touching each other, so that when i kick one over, the other will also turn on...He told me to check the wiring harness that runs thru there..So and i did and had the biggest SHOCK of my life...All the wires that run under the finder where melted together... I dont know how this happened but almost all the wires were melted together, so i had to go thru and separate each one individually so that nothing touched... I guess now the horn wire is touching a hot wire and kicking over the relay, thus kicking over the horn...Now i have to get back under there and start over again..

THIS SUX. Who knows WTF happened to this car b4 i bought it..

This is one of the reasons why i wana sell this car and buy another one...

I AM TRYING TO RESTORE MY 240 CONVERTIBLE IT HAS SURVIVED 3 TEENAGERS AND 180,000 MILES, RUNS GREAT AND MECHANICALLY MAINTAINED FOR MY WIFE AND I. THE HORN BEGAN GOING OFF BY ITSELF, I DETERMINED IT WAS THE INSULATION IN HORN PAD ALLOWING THE CONTACTS TO TOUCH. I REMOVED THE HORN REINSULATED THE BAD PARTS OF THE INSULATING PAD, TESTED IT WITH A METER. WHEN I WENT TO TRY THE HORN IT DID NOT WORK OF COURSE. I FOUND THE 10A FUSE WAS BLOWN. I REPLACE THE FUSE AND STILL NO HORN. THE CAR IS GARAGED RIGHT NOW, BUT IT SEEMS THE BATTERY I POSSIBLY GOING DEAD, IT IS NOT A NEW BATTERY SO I DO NOT KNOW IF ITS RELATED OR COINCIDENCE. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO TROUBLE SHOOT THIS, I CANNOT MOVE ON WITH MY REFURBISHING TIL I GET THE HORN FIXED, THANK YOU.

The horn relay is GROUND tiggered from the horn switch. Ive got it narrowed down to somewhere between the horn itself and the relay. Somewhere, somehow that wire is touching ground and kicking that relay over.
