The other day I used the horn and noticed it would only work if I pressed on the bottom half of the airbag (I usually press on the top) and today it wouldn't work at all. It still beeps when I lock the doors with the keypad. What could my problem be? I opened up the little panel on the bottom of the wheel and the connectors were together good. Could it be the clock spring? Before I put in my aftermarket HU, I noticed the audio buttons would work off and on. What should I check out first?

It's something in the switch assembly in the center of the steering wheel. Since the air bag is there, I'd definitely read the FSM before disassembling.

That was exactly the failure mode my mom's 1960 Comet had, except therewas one more step: the big chrome horn ring fell off into my lap. There was a plasticbayonet bit that failed after about nine years.

There should be a fuse somewhere.

If it failed on the top half but not the bottom half, it's not a fuse. There willlbe one fuse for top and bottom.
