I have had the Versa for just under 6 months and it already has 11k on it...yikes.

No problems to report, so that's good.

What maintenance should be done at this point? Has anyone else driven that many miles in that timespan?

my wife has put 11k+ on her versa since july.

i got the oil changed at 7k. it's 95% highway...

i suppose at the next oil change around 14k miles we'll rotate the tires. i'll probably change the air filter and cabin air filter. we'll see what else the dealership wants to do...

we've had ZERO problems and the only complaint i have is a creaky dash but the wife isn't bothered so i'm not going to say anything to the dealer.

she consistently gets 31-33 mpg highway.

funny, my car is exactly double the age of yours with exactly double the miles, and no problems yet (replaced an A/C compressor due to noise, and new compressor is also noisy).

Your Versa needs to be taken into protective custody immediately! Oil changes are at 3750 miles at least. Check the manual in the glove box for the service intervals. If you are putting that much mileage on your Versa you really need to stick to the service intervals.

Ah... your car is just a baby compared to some. we've got a few here with over 20k miles already.

Just stick to the maintenance schedule in the manual and you'll be fine.

I've had my Versa since sept 8. I bought it with 10400 kms on it and now currently have 22000 kms on it, I drive 50 kms one way to work everyday, only problem was the a/c compressor and warped rotors. Been getting the oil changed as it says in the manual.

I have had the first oil change already, at 5500 miles....the dealer said to bring it in at 7500 but I have not done so yet, probably this weekend.

I got a coupon from the dealership for a 19.95 tire rotation and inspection so maybe I will do that, too.

The tire pressure light has gone on twice since I have had it, but that's probably normal, right?

High miles in a short time normally means lots of freeway miles, which are the best type for your car. No big deal, other than the cost of gas and tires, your 2 largest maintenance costs. Lots of freeway miles can allow you to extend your oil change interval to 10k miles or more, 7500 at the least.

Many salespeople that travel for work will tell you 25k miles/year is normal if not a little low.

I put 30k miles on a '03 Corolla in 16 months. My personal best was 15k miles on my first motorcycle in 5 months.

My Versa has been quite happy running 36k miles per year, but I've always been a stickler about maintenance. I don't have the dealer work on it, but I do have the mechanic I've used for years follow the service manual suggestions.

Regular maintenance has let me put way more miles on several cars than even my mechanic ever expected. (When I brought my Plymouth Sundance in for 105k service, they said thay'd never seen one with over 90k and weren't sure what to do. I ended up selling it with 220k miles and the guy I bought it from drove it for three more years.)

you are correct, however i think unintentionally...

oil changes should come at 3750 miles at least. (1st schedule)

oil changes should come at 7500 miles at most. (2nd schedule)

it's in the manual.

Right - the service manual states:

Follow Periodic Maintenance Schedule 1 if your driving habits frequently includes one or more of the following driving conditions:

o Repeated short trips of less than 5 miles (8 km).o Repeated short trips of less than 10 miles (16 km) with outside temperatures remaining below freezing.o Operating in hot weather in stop-and-go “rush hour” traffic.o Extensive idling and/or low speed driving for long distances, such as police, taxi or door-to-door delivery use.o Driving in dusty conditions.o Driving on rough, muddy, or salt spread roads.o Towing a trailer, using a camper or a car-top carrier.

However, even though "frequently" doesn't apply to me for any of those, I still follow Schedule 1 since I have to make my car last longer. (If I traded in my car every 75k miles like my father did, I'd have to buy a new car every two years!)

My dealer (I believe) does a standard 4750 schedule for the Camel... but I often go over because of random road trips... which I am good at. For example... Yesterday I decided to drive to Wisconsin... from the airport. Do I didn't have anything packed (like toothbrush or underwear) ... but it was fun!! But the service guy told me that if my mileage was mostly highway, not to worry about going over. So I don't. I always schedule my maintenance when I get near the mileage... but then I do random stuff. eh.

i just hit 10,000kms a few days ago and ive had it 2 months. Had its first oil change at 7500kms.

Only gripe is that it takes a while to warm up in the winter even when plugged in

Wow. Mine is 1 year old and I only have 8000km on it. I work 10 minutes away from my house, so I don't do much driving

I buy a car to drive not to look at. I have a little over 8k in about five months so I am not too far behind. I have an 06 minivan with about 45k miles. That thing gets driven a bunch.

By now you should have done a couple of oil changes and tire rotations. I like to do my service (oil change and tire rotation) around 5k intervals. This is a common service interval for other makes and it is a easy number to remember if you can count by fives.

It wouldn't hurt to take a look at the cabin filter around 15k. I think that is what the book says but that is quite frequent compared with other vehicles I have owned with a cabin filter.
