I hope all my fellow Rogue owners in the East coast of US are safe and well. I am watching the news and worried about you guys.

Please take care and be safe.

I didn't loose the power but the weather was so bad yesterday that I ended up almost quit smoking. Good thing I had enough booze in the fridge. Other counties actually lost the power and as I just read never got it back (Thousands Still Without Power). Thanks for asking guys.

Good to hear you are ok Leo, hopefully everyone else is too.

I live in the Pittsburgh area, and luckily just got a lot of rain. There were some people in the area that lost power. But thankfully I wasn't one of them...

Glad to hear others are doing ok as well. :)

Very lucky here in Delaware. We have never taken a direct hit from a hurricane, and both Irene and Sandy barely touched us. Had to drive into work about 5 hours before the storm hit. The hotel I work at is solid block construction and 3 miles from the beach, so when people were evacuating they came to our place. Never lost power, but the strong winds drove the water up through the roof so we had a few leaks to deal with.

Had to drive though some rough spots coming home yesterday morning, and can say that while I'm pleased with the way the Rogue handled everything, I gotta say the Dunlop tires suck. Just don't feel as surefooted.

Where I live in Connecticut, basically nothing happened (just a pine tree that was knocked down by the wind). I'm really surprise that I did not lose power, because I kinda live in the jungle with trees everywhere.

Hopefully ImStricken and all the other members that live in New Jersey and New York are doing ok.

If I'm not mistaken, he lives north of where Sandy came ashore. I pray it's just a loss of power keeping him quite. Given that he's both former military and police, I'd say he's busy helping those in need.

Nice sentiments guys, I too hope for a quick and safe recovery in the areas that were hard hit, and our thoughts are with those such as ImStricken hoping he is ok.

I'm sure the work crews are doing everything they can 24 hours a day. Its probably a lot harder to reach so many people in such a densely populated area and not risk people's lives by getting power back on if lines are down.

Hope you are ok NE of here. Believe me we have had our share of power down for a week, and it sucks.

IM BACK! lol

thank you guys for the warm wishes and thoughts. i just got power back Saturday, but still no internet. cellphone service has been 1 bar if that. i tried logging in and only got in once - idk why but this site seems to hate my cellphone(always gives me some password error crap).

i live about 10mins drive from the beach, and my block only sustained ripped off roof shingles & moldings. thankfully my house is the only one that didn't sustain any damage whats so ever. we lost power pretty early on in the storm and never got it back up until saturday. i ran 200feet of extension chord from the basement(hooked up my 75gallon water heater) to my Rogue, and into a 100watt power inverter. thats how i managed to have hot water. i idled the rogue for 30mins at a time to get the water hot.

as the storm was coming ashore, i drove up to the beach. it was windy, muddy, and obviously sandy and some guys were off-roading in the muddy/sandy slush while the local cops were busy lol - so i opted to join in on the fun. i gotta say the Rogue handled awesome. right through the soft muddy/sandy slush it went without a single issue. i think the jeep guys were pretty impressed.

thank you for your thoughts & prayers. they mean a lot.

i unfortunately have an injured shoulder so my left arm has very limited use right now, so helping with search/rescue was pretty much out of the question. what i did enact was an armed patrol in my neighborhood. Reports of looters and criminal mischief before, during, and after the storm became very well known pretty much from NYC, all the way down to the lowest portion of the NJ coast line, so i did everything in my limited power to make sure my dark neighborhood was kept "fresh" via either foot patrols, checking on neighbor's and their houses, and mobile patrols via my car. my neighbor is a local Sergeant with the police dept and he did his best while on duty without taking away from the rest of the town - but that means we saw him once, every couple days in his patrol car. looters started stealing boats and coasting up to NJ coastal area's where the bridges to enter the area were destroyed, so they had more protection from law enforcement. night times with generators buzzing and pitch darkness was a breeding ground for crime.

the lines at gas stations exceeded two hours wait time, so i ended up having to go to Philadelphia for more fuel & other resources. it was well worth the hour in a half drive because the gas stations were fully operational with no more than 3-4 cars at a time. fresh, warm food was plentiful, and so was the internet on my phone.(thats when i tried to log in, got in, then this website kicked me out for some weird password violation.)

anyone else get hit hard?

i had a water front condo in Monmouth Beach, 3 years ago that i sold. THANK GOD lol
the town of Monmouth Beach can be seen in this video. Sea Bright & Monmouth Beach touch and share area's. They are so up each other's rear ends, idk why they even have two different names, but they do. here is the aftermath i would have needed to deal with if i never sold that condo off.
