If I'm not mistaken, he lives north of where Sandy came ashore. I pray it's just a loss of power keeping him quite. Given that he's both former military and police, I'd say he's busy helping those in need.
thank you for your thoughts & prayers. they mean a lot.
i unfortunately have an injured shoulder so my left arm has very limited use right now, so helping with search/rescue was pretty much out of the question. what i did enact was an armed patrol in my neighborhood. Reports of looters and criminal mischief before, during, and after the storm became very well known pretty much from NYC, all the way down to the lowest portion of the NJ coast line, so i did everything in my limited power to make sure my dark neighborhood was kept "fresh" via either foot patrols, checking on neighbor's and their houses, and mobile patrols via my car. my neighbor is a local Sergeant with the police dept and he did his best while on duty without taking away from the rest of the town - but that means we saw him once, every couple days in his patrol car. looters started stealing boats and coasting up to NJ coastal area's where the bridges to enter the area were destroyed, so they had more protection from law enforcement. night times with generators buzzing and pitch darkness was a breeding ground for crime.
the lines at gas stations exceeded two hours wait time, so i ended up having to go to Philadelphia for more fuel & other resources. it was well worth the hour in a half drive because the gas stations were fully operational with no more than 3-4 cars at a time. fresh, warm food was plentiful, and so was the internet on my phone.(thats when i tried to log in, got in, then this website kicked me out for some weird password violation.)
