Ok, has any one in this forum ever tried to do a rat mod on a 720? I think a 4.3 liter chevy vortec v6 would fit fairly easy in there, but I don't see any kits anywhere for nissans. Buttloads for toyotas, but none for nissan? My old tuckered out z is wheezy, and the rodder in me wants a v motor, but my traditionalist side just wants a better z motor. What a conundrum.

4x4 parts makes motor mounts for a 4.3 into a 720. They make them for a Buick v6 into a 720. They even make a 700r4 to v6 transfer case adapter, but that probably won't work on your T-case.https://www.4x4parts.com/catal....html

That depends on whether the different series of Buick v6's have the same engine mounts. I think the 4x4parts mounts are for the old odd-fire style, but I don't know for sure. L67 would be cool, though, if you could route all the tubing right, you know, since it is not really for RWD. Oil pan might have some problems, and the Camaro/Firebird pans are mid sump (I think). Also, the serpentine system might not work with a RWD, but don't quote me, I'm just thinking out loud.

I've seen :- 720 with Nissan Vg, ford Capri V6, Chevy V8, Mazda 13B and of course the yota 1 & 2JZ. I'm glad I'm not a purist.

I think its still there, I keep finding it cuz I'd like to get a 4 wheel drive the same year as my 2 wheel drive, but not a Frankenstein, looks like a good price.

Has anyone ever done a 22R(Toyota) conversion?

Why? Same power, slower increase in revs, maybe more reliable (although I doubt it). To me it makes no sense.

Yeah, that! I've known many a Toyota with the 22R engine, that went 300,000 to 400,000. The 22Z engine is not very common around my parts(four wheel drive mini-pickups are very popular here,Toyotas with the 22R go for a premium), I'm the only person I know with one at the moment. I've had her for 10 years now, but have not driven her a whole lot.

I'd be likely to believe that the 22Z has the same potential for longevity as the 22R, but I can't prove it yet, my 720 is only up to 170,000 right now. I do know that if I went looking for a 2.2 engine locally right now, I'd turn up many more 22Rs.......................

Look further down on the main page. There is a page for selling your ride. Makes no difference on the model once its a nissan/datsun.
