Haha one more reason to be a fan of Nissan. My keys were missing....well i found them, in the dryer. They went thru the full wash and dry cycle with my laundry. Well, I went outside and holy s*** they still work like a charm. never would have expected that.

I would open it up anyways (pull key out and split open) and stick that sucker in a ziplock with rice overnight!

Only thing I could think of would be soaking up water.

But in any case glad your keys work

yeah all rice does is dry it out. but considering it went thru the dryer too....it wasnt wet anymore haha.

on a side note, i work at verizon (please dont yell at me) and i love it when customers come in and they got there phone wet and they have the best ways to 'fix it'. ive heard:put it in with a loaf of breadbowl of riceput it in the oven (seriously?)one guy said he taped his phone to his hood and drove around

and im sure there are more i cant think of.

Bowl of rice works the best. Personal experience with my cell phone. Works like a charm.. Yeah one of my FOBs went through the wash. Works fine too lol.

how about replace the water seal and return it to the manufacture as a defect lol

any piece of electronic equipment will work after getting wet so long as it wasn't on when it happened, and that it is fully dry before trying to operate it.

Last year at a football tailgate it started raining. I was sitting in a chair and my keys must have fell out into them. I got up, a few minutes later came back to see they were completely submerged in a pool of water. The nissan key worked just fine, but my aftermarket viper keyless entry was not working. So I could open the car, but the alarm would go off, I could drive around but the alarm would not shut off. I had to open up my dash in the parking lot and unplug the alarm. After finding out how easy it was to unplug my alarm, i made it a little more difficult
