hooking up the speedo after 5sp covert

Im about to buy a 1995 s14 thats been converted to a 5sp but the speedo isnt hooked up. i heard theres no way to hook it back up. Is there any way to hook it up?

what'd you hear exactly? it couldnt be hooked up how? look for the speed sensor on the transmission and see if its wired at all or if there even is one.
