Got a problem here guys, I'm hoping someone knows how to help me and my friend out. My buddy took his Jetta to a shop to get new rear brakes put on and they didn't hook the e-brake back up. I'm wandering if anyone knows how to do it. I've never touched an e-brake cable before.

Step one, drive back to shop.

Step two, smack the s*** out of the manager.

Step three, sit in the waiting room reading a two year old copy of Time magazine and sipping a frosty beverage while the a** hat that screwed up your buddy's car unscrews it.

Step four, ???

Step five, profit

^This. If the ebrake worked before the work was done, why can't your friend simply take it back to the shop and make them do it free?

The e-brake has to be put on the caliper when the caliper is off the wheel, so it's a fairly involved operation.

Like the others said, because it's not a small thing, take it back and btich up a storm at those idiots. If I were a shop manager, I would definitely fire the employee who did that. That shops insurance can't afford to cover for the moron who left that the way it is.
