Wiring up a air/fuel gauge to the stock narrow band o2 sensor is near worthless. Narrow band operates from 0-1 volt and is non-liniar. Wideband, however, operates from 0-5 volts and is liniar, a very useful tuning tool.

I wouldn't use it to tune, but it can let you know something is up.

One came with my car and I hooked it up, let me know that something was wrong with my O2 sensor or wiring pretty quick

If you go WOT and it doesn't read rich, it can let you know to take it easy and figure out the problem before detonation. It can also give prewarning if your o2 sensor is starting to go bad, as they start getting laggy and sluggish.

The easiest way would be to run it all to the ECU. Ground, Power, and signal. Look for a pinout.
