I can find the mount brackets for a Pathfinder but not the QX4. Does anyone know if they are compatible or can be made to work with relitive ease.
Thanks

With reference to a 97 QX4 and a 97-2000 Pathfinder: As far as the mounting of a hitch the hitch itself is the same. The mounting or attaching nuts are welded into the frame at the rear. You will have to remove 3 smaller sized head bolts and replace with 4 larger headed bolts of the same size. At the same time remove the tie down hooks and discard them. The hitch slides into place and all 8 bolts with spring washers must be inserted by hand and when all are in then tighten to 68 ft/lbs.

is the OP trying to hook up a hitch? or a tow-bar?

I had to google what a BlueOx Tow Bar was, and saw this:

so I assume a Hitch and tow-bar are 2 different toys.

If OP is asking ot hook up a hitch receiver, then ARK has it spot on... and it even applies to the R50.5's (ie. 2001-2004 non-Armada Pathfinders & Qx4).

If it's a tow-bar OP is trying to hook up to the front of the Qx4, then don't you need a tow-bar "receiver" first? I assume not all cars merely come with one, and that you need to put one on...

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to tow the QX4 with an RV. Blue OX said they only make mount brackets for a Pathfinder. I'm trying to find out if those will work on the Infiniti - Blue OX won't make a commitment that it will work, and there is a 25% restock fee if it doesn't.

Dont know for sure. The plastics are the only things different such as the bumper and fender flares ect. Whats under those is identical to what the pathfinder has. The mounts should fit just fine where they mount to the actual struture of the truck but if they come up over plastics ect they may have some clearance issues. But Im highly doubting they will usually tow bars attach near the stock tow hooks which should not cause an issue

You should read the section in your owner's manual about towing. Net: You don't want to flat tow your truck with an RV.

Most QX4 are no good being towed as the hydraulic pump(s) within the transmission and transfer case do not like being torqued by the drive line and will screw themselves into a money pit. You can tow them if you disconnect the drive shafts, or easier tow them in another flatbed or dolly them.

You may get away with a very short trip at very low speeds but I would take Nissan's warnings with a good deal of thought...they made it, they know what works and does not and apparently the drive system is good for primary movement but not good when towed.
