2005 G35 Coupe 6MT 58k White/Tan

Good:
~Well taken care of, never driven past october or before march.
~Rigorous service records of everything done at the dealer almost with in 90 miles every time for the 3000k oil change
~Factory Clear bra (clear vinyl) = no rick chips up front
~Low miles...
etc

Now heres the bad i found out ON THE WAY TO SEE THE CAR 6 HOURS AWAY!
~Clutch was slipping "minor"...its bad now.
~Driver seat switch is broke so i have a nice gangster lean til i get that fixed.
~The 3 spots that were fixed by hail has overspray galore.

Overall not a bad 7 year old car.

Pics of when i drove it home the other day after spending HOURS just cleaning it since it was parked all winter and spring.

This is exactly what i want my interior to look like soon: Little more research and ill be ready to order.

Since the Clutch is bad i ordered the Z1 Motorsports Clutch kit with flywheel And some OEM Nissan 75w85. Cannot WAIT to get that done.

Other then that its more cleaning the paint and getting that to where i want it then we'll see. Ive already scoped out the intake plenum spacer and a bunch of other things for now.

Looks good! I love that body style! Just know that a lightweight flywheel may induce some chatter.

You mentioned something about overspray. I'm sure you are aware of a clay bar, if not...it should do the trick.

Ill Take a picture. See Below,

Heres some progress:

@59,130 - Oil Change
@59,138 - Z1 Motorsports Lightweight Flywheel and clutch combo with new pilot bearing/Throwout bearing and clutch line.
@59,200- Huge car cleaning day.. Go figure the next day it rained.

Back round on this story:
I was getting ready to start the clutch/flywheel swap and the bolts for the cats fell apart even after heating them. Didnt take long to round them out. ( Keep in mind car sat every winter in maine on the back lawn uncovered/unprotected). So i just grabbed the grinder and got those off so the Y pipe could come out.

So I brought the car into the dealership. (I know friends with garages but i wanted the cars past dealership history and needed an inspection anyways) They got the old studs RED hot and pounded them out with the airhammer. New gaskets/bolts and on went the Ypipe. So im sitting their reading my Vehicle service history since the day it was bought and discovered the following:

11/21/08 - @ 38,174 - Customer states clattering noise in the trans
- Trans replaced under warranty.

Other then that car has been in for normal things, and some "annoyance" issues related to the bad trans and clutch.

@7,123 The car rear ended another and replaced hood and engine cover. Thats the only time i would think a car would need paint... but for some reason they resprayed the whole car. You can see it when you open the gas door the new vs old.
Oh well. The paint has imperfections everywhere and whoever painted it SUCKED. Its getting repainted over the winter the right way. The bumper has lines in it where it looks like a HEAVY clear was put on and ran down to the ground. Not sure why its a $40k car with such crappy paint lol.

Ill update this thread soon! getting a couple things together for a led swap. Found a smashed 05 so im taking the instrument cluster and clock cluster out to begin prep work. This is one project im not looking forward to :chuckle:

Wow where to begin.

9.17.2012 i was at a stop sign and a penske truck backed into me saying he needed more room for the turn. He was 100% at fault and im awaiting a nice check. Need a new hood grill rad support and scratched the bumper good. So lucky the rad didnt go also. Ill post a pic of that soon.

Since then been pretty much been busy buying parts i dont need and whatnot for winter.

Bought:
Jwt popcharger
Knectix v+ intake Plenum
Made my own "z tube" out of old intake piping i had around.
Stoptech pads all around
Stoptech drilled and slotted rotors all around
SS brake lines
Stance coilovers
Stillen true dual exhaust
Carbon fiber eyelids
20mm spacers all around for the stock 19s. (All the wheels are flush back pokes out about 1mm)
And a bunch of other crap. I cant remember.

In the process of looking for a nice carbon fiber hood. Any recommendations would be helpful along with a place that is known for quality and customer service.

Haven't been doing much besides stock pileing parts for when i actually have time to work on it in my garage. Other then that been driving my winter daily and dumping money into that ('91 galant vr4. 4dr awd turbo grocery getter...lets just say its daily driven on 22psi lol)

Pictures of everything ill post later today!
