Hood Vents/louvers

I'm wanting to put some hood vents/hood louvers whatever you want to call them, on my g35. Do these have to be specifically made for g35s or can you get any louvers and fit them in the hood? I know that I will be cutting the spots for them but I'm talking in regards of thickness or whatever it could be that would make it not work?

You have to be careful where the louvres are put in place. When rain gets through, you don't want it getting on anything electronic or the belt.

Is there a performance reason you want to add these or is it for cosmetic reasons? The cooling systems on these cars are adequate in stock form and engine bay temps don't get too bad once you're moving.
