I'm having a hard time closing the hood. I put my whole weight on it and still couldn't close it.

Any suggestions?

Check to make sure the hood prop hasn't come down from it's mounting location... other than that, did it get damaged somehow?

I got the car 2 weeks ago. Everything else is working fine.

It's not the prop. Might have to take it to the dealership to let them look at it.

do not, and i repeat put weight on the hood, you will dent it. how you want to close the hood is raise it about 1.5 ~ 2 feet off the latch. and let go. gravity and the weight will close the hood shut.

Dropping the hood is where I would start. If it doesn't close on its own weight, you should have it looked at. I agree with MIdnkight-lude. You don't really want to sit, stand, press, etc on the hood too much. You don't want to have to get a dent out of your new car.

It could be a much easier hood prop n lift design. If you have access to one go see how much easier the VW Golf is..

... and more expensive I'm sure and less reliable (more complex mechanism). I only access my hood once a week or less. I'd rather have the smaller sticker price thank you.

The Versa hood appears ot be hte same basic desing as every other Japaness car I've owned. Never had a problem with them. But yes, you must let the hood drop at least 6" to close it.
