My hood shocks in my y33 are blown and was wondering did anyone know of a replacement one. My buddy checked and even with his Infiniti discount they're still like 75 a piece I took some off a G50 at the junk yard, they mount on properly but the hood won't close.

That's good to know, I need them too. As long as it's warm or the engine is nice and hot it stays up fine, but otherwise not.

Yeah, but they were like 12 dollars for both, one of those you pick it, you pull it, you buy it junk yards so the prices are hella cheap. Seriously you only used one shock and it held up, interesting. Thanks though, seems like I have a quick Sunday morning thing to look forward to, before the games come on

They are not shocks, but assist struts.

Having them different side to side just invites introducing torque into the hood operation. Not at all desirable.

Lube the hinges also while you replace the the assist struts.
