ok guys, the time has come...im getting hood pins. no matter how much i like the look of having a "clean" hood, i am tired of seeing my hood flab in the wind and worrying that it will come flying off! i have been looking at a few different designs and have settled on two. one is the typical design from jegs and another is a flush-mount system. check out these links and let me know what you guys think. should i go for the flush-mount? will it fit on an oem spec carbon fiber hood? are they even worth the extra $$ or should i just get the average type? what are ya'lls opinions....?

The mechanism of the hidden latch is pretty cool, I've not seen that system before.

My main concern would be size and placement. Check the under structure of your hood to get an idea of how much and what area are you going to have to go through. Is there structural support for the hood that would be affected? That being said, the hidden look is a lot cleaner.

The old school hood pin is a lot less complicated for installation. But it is a great design, and very simplistic, for the purpose it serves.

I actually found this article by searching on google. zerothread/206359The installation looks to be pretty straight forward.

I just bought the Aerocatch.

See my thread titled, "Rough Night For The Vert" to see why.

the aerocatch are a royal PITA to install but once theyre on they do look better

well, im planning on letting a bodyshop do the install anyways. im just not comfortable with the idea of drilling thru my hood myself, lol! plus, if they screw it up, they have to fix it!

do you guys know where to get the carbon fiber ones like on that 350z?

I like both but I would go for the other ones because they are cheaper and I like the pin look. There is no point trying to hide it. Infact, Id like to do this...

Show us pics when ur done...
