Hood pin mounting

hey where in the hell do you mount hood pins on a S13? i looked for a good place on the radiator support but there isnt any where good, they are all to close to the edge of the hood. i need hood pins cause my CF hood's lactch is just a little bit in the wrong place to where i can close my hood but i gotta lean on the bastard to close it so im gonna loose the latch all together. so anyone got any idea, pictures would always help

the support in front of the radiator. if you've a s13 then between the headlights on that big thick bar, drill somewhere in there and secure the pins. Get a permanent marker, put it on top of the pin and put the hood down on it. It'll leave a mark, you drill there. Put the metal collars on the hood, put some silicone on the back, you don't want water seeping into your engine compartment through there. snap the ring in place and you're done.

i was thinking about a carbon fiber hood with hood pins, but i thought to myself, it means that anyone walking by your car can pop the hood while the car is parked in a big lot, like at a mall, etc. maybe something to think about.....

Damn! I didn't even think about that! Anyway, there are quite a few companies that sell hood pins, I would personally check out VIS or.........uh...........shoot, I forgot the other company. Since I'm at school I don't have access to my "favorites" so I don't know the name off the top of my head.

But yeah, people are jerks and I'm sure that if you had the hood pins setup, someone would pop the hood and take a crap in there or something. I remember my good friend's younger brother always ****ed with people's cars until we caught him one day and kicked his *** for it. His specialty was the "good for three points" trick where he would "shoot" a 7-11 slurpy through someones open sun roof...........

Jspec.com S13II has keyed hoodpins. Might want to ask Sam where he got them or if he can get them.
