Hood Lift Supports for Versa

Hello,
does anyone know if there is a way to install some lift supports to the hood of the Versa? I would like to eliminate the use of the prop rod attached to the hood and use supports to hold the hood up. Much like the rear gate lift supports that help the gate stay up when unloading groceries and not come down and crack your noggin.

I've seen retrofit kits in Taiwan for Nissan Tiidas. But I haven't seen them stateside. Sorry.
