Alright, so this has been driving me crazy since Ive bought the car but I haven't found a remedy for it.

My hood latch doesn't hold the hood tight when latched. I bring the hood down rest it on the latch and then push It down firmly, and I check to make sure Its secure, but there is a bit of Up/Down play in it.

This thing is annoying especially when I can see and hear the hood rattling up and down with the minor play the latch is giving up, is their a way to snug down on this thing so it holds the hood more securely?

is your second latch latching(can you open the hood back up w/o reaching inside?)

if you have to pop it from inside, then check if there is any adjustment on either side of the latch. I dont have my car anymore so i cant check for you.

No, I cannot open the hood again after Its set down in.

When Its in a completely shut setting the best way to explain it is that I can jiggle the hood up and down inside the closed position, almost like the latch isnt holding it tight enough.

This could be a big deal if you are going down the highwayat 80 and the thing comes up when the wind blows it up

I have the same problem and its annoying on the freeway. Its been like that ever since I've had the car. I'm sending it to a body shop to have them fix it.

It could be the that the two little stoppers on either side need to be adusted or replaced.

On my I30, I had a problem with popping the hood. It wouldn't without someone lifting as I pulled the release. I finally figured out that there are 2 little rubber screw-in stoppers on either side of the hood that push it up a little. The can be unscrewed for height, but mine were stripped, so I paid less than $10 at the dealership and replaced them in the parking lot. It make a HUGE difference and I was able to correct the weird hood gap.

Sentient is absolutely correct. They are little round black rubber stoppers. If you turn them left then they will raise up. Definitely adjust them. Just to let you know this is a common problem with our cars. Even though I have mine adjusted my hood still shakes... but it's not actually moving, the metal is actually bouncing a little. Good luck
